One of my favourite topics is prehistoric animals, or, dinosaurs. I had been looking for a good book that wasn't overly dull for a while when I came accross this great book. Not only does it give you the facts, it does so in an interesting way. This is by far the best book on dinosaurs that I have read. If you don't mind working a little harder to understand the text, you will have new knowledge on the great world of before.

As this book updates you on the world of paleontology and it's newest findings - from new species of dinosaurs to more realistic theories on the rise and extinction of these amazing animals - you see how the understanding has changed dramatically in the last decade.

This unbelievable book has made me think about, well, everything differently! In just the first 2 chapters, I was beginning to rethink most of what I thought I 'knew' and if I should be thinking differently. So quickly and in such an amazing way the authors of this book lay on so much information so that it is easily understandable.

'In this Freak 'how-to' guide, the mavericks behind the Freakonomics phenomenon teach you their secrets: how to challenge conventional wisdom, unravel life's secret codes and think differently - that is, think like a Freak. Levitt and Dubner see the world like no-one else. Now you can too.' - The description of the book (Amazon website)

Cook-books are one of the most well-known category of non-fiction and Mary Berry is one of the most well-known people in the food inductry. This book really does include recipes that will make your life easier and more delicious.

It not only included a rage of recipes from starters and nibbles to poultry and game and then onto hot puddings as well as cold desserts, but it also gives you tips on preperation, storage and reheating to make your food taste just as fresh the next day or even a week later.

There have been a range of recipes that I have tried and loved, great food for friends, family and guests. There are quick recipes, recipes that take longer with more effort but all are equally as morish. It may not be as engaging as a fiction book or even as interesting as another non-fiction book but there are so many different things to try and enjoy.

Finding really interesting, fun to read non-fiction books that fully stimulate the brain is one of the hardest things I do. When I found this, the title was the first thing that drew me in. I knew straight away that it would be interesting, also partly due to the cover and tagline 'scientific answers to stupidly hilarious questions' (or something of that sort :) ) I started reading and was hooked, despite having to read some sections a few times over in order to understand!

Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions. Need I say more? You know what, might as well. From Nuclear bombs and fire tornados to DNA and gravity, there are amazingly crazy questions with completely serious answers that not only simply answer the question but go above and beyond.

Bill Bryson is such a great author for all ages. His books are an insight into another world and Notes from a small Island is an outside view into our amazing little island. We love it, almost to a bad degree but honestly, if your looking for a travel book of just a book of hilariously relatable stories. This is british comedy at it's finest, let's just say more than a bit better than my sarcastic comments!

Filled with sarcasm, this is a great book from American author Bill Bryson as he travels all over Britain from the coast in Brighton, through the bustling city of London and up north follow this amazing journey and experience this beautiful island full of crazy weather from a different view - of someone who has not had to live here their whole life ;)

I know, an illustrated dictionary, how childish! you must be thinking. But no, this disctionary is slightly different and I have solid evidence that it has been useful for GCSE's *cough cough I 100% know this for a fact cough cough*. But in all honesty, it's great for studying and also just to learn a few cool new facts to surprise someone else. It's especially funny when an 9-year-old starts talking about radioactive isotopes decaying through alpha radiation and losing two protons to become another element :).

This amazing book references so many different things through all three: biology, chemistry and physics. From radioactivity to electrolysis to genetic engineering, it's go so much to help with exams or just to quench that insatiable curiosity I know you have. Who doesn't want to learn about molecular properties? Whatever your interests are, there is something for you.
